Análisis de las apreciaciones de los padres respecto al uso de una app para apoyar el aprendizaje de la lectura de sus hijos durante la pandemia

Currently, the world is facing a COVID-19 pandemic, a fact that has forced state entities and educational institutions to limit their face-to-face activities in order to manage the crisis. Thus, the teaching-learning processes have permeated the family context and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has become a necessity. The objective of this study was focused on recognizing the appreciations that parents have about the use of an APP to support their children's reading process, through the use of structured interviews and participant observation. Through this qualitative case study research, a thematic analysis of networks was carried out, where the Reading Learning Process in children aged 6 to 8 years was identified as a macro-theme, and the following were identified as organizing themes: Motivation, Strategies of the parents to encourage reading, Initial difficulties, Children's interaction with the APP and Results of the use of the APP. It was concluded that the ABC Dinos APP is an easy-to-use application that allows self correction, and that generates a positive impact on the reading learning process of children from 6 to 8 years old, promoting motivation for reading through play and improving reading skills.
