América Latina y el Caribe como vehículo contrahegemónico de China

This article analyzes the configuration of the economic relations between the People¿s Republic of China and Latin America and the Caribbean and how they favor the displacement of China towards the center of the capitalist world-system. To this end, it defines the reasons that led China to approach the region, just as it favors its interests in a process of counterhegemony, but not counter-system. The main findings of this study establish that China¿s international policy towards Latin American and Caribbean countries is determined by the pursuit of political benefits, in relation to the international system, and economic benefits, in relation to each country of the region.
