Survivors of sexual violence face an elevated risk of developing mental health problems; however, some experience posttraumatic growth (PTG) as a positive response to trauma. Previous studies have shown that social support and cognitive processing are key factors in developing PTG, but the specific role of collective encounters and group integration in this process has been understudied, particularly in the context of women survivors of sexual violence.
