Resumen
Women's migration is a complex process, constituting 48% of the worldwide migrant population. Analysis from various disciplines, particularly social sciences, promotes understanding of social inequalities, rights violations, and the experiences faced by women during migration. Research from the perspective of these women is crucial for approaching the unique aspects of this process. By examining vital transitions within the migratory process (which encompasses departure, transit, and permanence), this work explores the ability for agency shown by five migrant women from Venezuela currently residing in Bogota. To that end it draws analytical tools from Anthony Giddens work to describe, understand and identify their ability for agency on family matters and economic, social, and cultural dynamics.
